Last Day :(

Today is my last day at America's First Federal Credit Union. I have mixed emotions about leaving, but I know that I have a wonderful opportunity that lies ahead of me. On that note, I am going to stay positive and try my best not to be nervous or intimidated about my new position. The girls that I work with are so sweet! They surprised me with a chocolate and peanut butter cake and a jar of JIF! (sort of an inside joke, but long story short, I love peanut butter!) I have been so fortunate to work with such wonderful people and I am going to miss them very much. Now all I have to do it look forward to my new career. I cant help but be a littler nervous though........

Last night, my work surprised me with a going away dinner at San Antonio Grill(my fav!!) I was so excited and we had the best time! It is going to be very difficult to leave my job after four years, but I am also anxious to begin my career at Carruther's! I love these girls and am so thankful for them!

Our House

I really don't think that I have ever posted pictures from the inside of our house. January of 2008 we bought a fixer upper in McCalla. I use the term "fixer upper" very loosely in this case. The outside of our house was in perfect condition. However, the inside was another story. We had to re-route most of the plumbing, replace a good bit of the sheet rock, replace ALL of the flooring, repair water damage and much MUCH more! It took us about seven months to get it all done. But with the help of both of our dads and my brother in law, we were able to completely flip this house. It is now our home that we have built together and we love it so much ! I am so glad that one day we will be able to look back on this and realize how much we accomplished together as a family. Enjoy the pics :)

Meemaw's Birthday

Yesterday we all went over to my aunt's house in Gadsden for my Meemaw's 87th birthday. We had such a great time playing horse shoes and backyard football. We are so thankful for my grandmother. She is still an active woman who goes out dancing twice a week!! I hope I can say that when I am her age. She is such an inspirational woman and we all love her so much!

Our New Truck !!!

Jordan and I bought a Ford F150 on Saturday. We spent all day looking for him a new truck and finally found one that we loved!!! Here are some pictures of Jordan's new toy!

It's Amazing how God works!!

I graduated from college three months ago during one of the worst economic recessions of our time. So, it came as no surprise to me that I would have an extremely difficult time finding a career. I know that I have applied for at least 75 jobs over these months and have gone on numerous interviews--most of which were scams or commission only based jobs which I was not interested in at all. I had already accepted the fact that it would probably be next year before I left the credit union. However, my sister in law Melissa recently had a company contact her about a position. Melissa was not able to accept the position, however, she did let them know that she had a sister in law who was job searching at the time. They called me in for an interview and I absolutely LOVED the people as well as the company. I prayed for this job so much and got a call yesterday with an offer!! I am extremely excited about it and I start on Friday, August 28th. This is such an amazing opportunity for me professionally and I could not be happier about how this worked out. They are a great company and there are plenty of areas for me to advance in this new career. So, you are now looking at the new accounts manager of Carruthers' Real Estate/Property Managers !! God really does work in mysterious ways and I am so thankful for that!

Finally.....

I dont think that I have actually posted pictures from my graduation in May, so I thought I would. I received my Bachelors of Business Administration and I start my MBA program in the spring. This day (although extremely hot outside) is one of my favorite memories and biggest accomplishments :)

Today, our new McCalla location had its grand opening. We got there early for the ribbon cutting ceremony and also to take a few pictures. JOX Radio was also here doing their Opening Drive segment. I was lucky enough to meet (again) Jay Barker!! He didn't mind taking another picture with me either :)

A Great Weekend!

Our nephew, Logan is playing football for the first time this year for Corner. Needless to say, no one was more excited about this than Jordan. As soon as Logan signed up, Jordan has been wanting to go down and work with him on tackling, running the ball, and all that other football stuff. So we went down to Nana and Pappy's to get him and Jordan took him up to the high school field. Since the girls were left all alone, we decided that it would be a good idea to go shopping and spend some money (that always seems like the right thing to do in these situations) So me, my sister in law, Melissa, my mother in law and our niece Katie all went to the Galleria. We spend a lot of our time in Justice picking out clothes for Katie's new school year (she will be in first grade this year !) and watching her try them on. She looked so precious in everything she put on. Then, we spent the rest of our time looking for things for us! Melissa and I definitely found plenty too!! We were out all day and didn't even realize that we had missed dinner, so we stopped at Chili's on the way home at about 9! We were absolutely exhausted! Then yesterday, I spent the day with Jordan and Roxi .....We went and ate breakfast, rented some movies and just decided to be lazy all day :) It was great and very relaxing :)
